Pollinating the Corpse Flower at the Rollins College Greenhouse

Sunday, April 19, 2015, the long-awaited blooming of a corpse flower occurred at Rollins Greenhouse located in Winter Park, Florida. My husband Monte and I missed the event by two days. However, we observed it on time-lapse photography.

  2. I saw a post about the corpse flower last year I think on a blog somewhere, but not at Rollins. Cool! Just glad I can’t smell it! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com

Lovely photos. That is certainly an amazing plant. A few months ago there corpse flower at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens bloomed (I live in Australia) and I got to see it on the second day. By then it was a bit wilted but the smell was pretty much gone 🙂
